The European Commission's Youth Employment Package proposes to introduce the “Youth Guarantee”. This Guarantee will ensure that all young people, up to 25 years old, receive a quality offer of a job, continued education, an apprenticeship or a traineeship within 4 months of leaving formal education. EDC News: European Youth Portal
The European Commission has developed a portal - European Youth Portal - that is solely focused on young people who are living, learning and working in Europe. The portal was developed as a direct result of the European Commission's 2001 white paper A new impetus for European Youth. The Youth Portal is a way to give access to information on Europe to as many young people as possible and allow the views of young people to be heard with the ultimate aim of enhancing young people's participation in public life and thus to contribute to their active citizenship.
This portal will give young people information on working, volunteering, studying & educational tools, their rights, and much more (see selected links below).

Eurodesk a network of information centres specialising on EU issues, developments, sources and coordinate research for young people. The portal allows young people to have their views heard - through online discussion forums, and have their questions answered through the Eurodesk Network. This site also offers the European toolbox, which is a collection of relevant resources and tools, such as EU animated tools, partnership search, EU information relays, etc.

EURAXESS Researchers in motion – is a network of service centres that provide free personalised assistance on issues, such as, jobs for researchers abroad, moving abroad, housing, language courses, work permits, intellectual property rights and social & cultural issues.

NARIC – provides information and advice on the recognition of diplomas, certificates and other professional qualifications obtained abroad, and for different educational systems. Staff also provide guidance on opportunities to study abroad, including information on loans and scholarships, as well as practical aspects of moving abroad and the recognition of academic qualifications.

Euroguidance – A network of centres linking together the Careers Guidance systems in Europe. Euroguidance promotes mobility, helps guidance counsellors and individuals to better understand the opportunities available to European citizens throughout Europe.
